Oil will be used as payment for our attack & rebuilding. That is a given. That is known. Who will benefit most from the Oil gained? I think we all know.

Use all the words you want, and so can any, but my opinion is simple in that we have no right to invade a country for no reason. When Iraq uses a weapon that causes harm to our country then we can do something, until then, we need to stay out of their country. Bottom line is that no matter what we accomplish in Irag, it will not stop the inevitable.

General: the arguments for war have been laid out. You don't agree with them. I respect that. I, however, agree with them, I'm just too tired tonight to retype the same arguments ad infinitum. I hope you respect my right to hold my belief as well. I literally cannot believe that given what Iraq has done in the past and is refusing to do in the present is not sufficient cause, but que sera.

For a country, like the US; with it's high ideals of democracy for all and the great "love of due process", if we attack Iraq; without United Nations blessing--exactly how do we look to the rest of the world? We talk the talk-but walk the walk? I heard a radio announcer say yesterday that the United Nations was our (US) enemy! Very sad comment indeed.

Jazz, Because Bush Sr. didn't have 12 years of sanctions to fall back on. Look at the post-war contracts for corporations that are out and signed already. Doesn't it seem at bit TOO well planned out? A 'carving up', if you will?

Look, every other country envy's America! Freedom comes at a price. If Saddam is not disarmed, your children or their children may not see their life. Weapons of mass distruction in the possesion of Saddam is unthinkable. This guy kills his own people!
